What I Learned From 7 Days In Alaska

My wife and I just got back from a 7-day trip to Alaska.

We saw some absolutely jaw-dropping natural wonders including humpbacked whales, sea otters, sky-scraping-snow-peaked mountains, bald eagles, and 200 foot tall glaciers calving into pristine waters.

But, before you read too far I need you to do something for me.

Get rid of all the Jack London, “Call of the wild” imagery the title of this post may have conjured in your mind!

I certainly wasn't hiking the back country or leading a brave team of sled dogs…

In point of fact, my wife and I explored the beautiful state of Alaska on-board a luxury cruise ship!

And that’s probably the only way I would choose to experience the wilderness because I’m not much of a “roughing it” type of fellow.

But, even though we were on vacation celebrating our anniversary and had a wonderful time, I learned some great lessons that I'll share with you now…

Most of these thoughts have something to do with proper rest and relaxation so that you can be at your absolute best as a pastor!

So here goes…
