How To Create A Culture Of Contagious Discipleship In Your Church

Here’s how to build a contagious culture of relational discipleship at your church!

One of my favorite quotes comes from Pastor Steve Murrell.

He said, “Jesus said he would build the church and He told us to make disciples. When we make disciples Jesus uses them to build the church!”

How many pastors spend year after frustrating year trying to BUILD the church?

I’m not pointing fingers because I’ve certainly done it myself!

But pastor Steve has a point.

Our real mission is to make disciples.

Not build buildings, launch programs, or expand the staff.

Do those things have a place?

Of course they do.

But they’re not primary.

They’re secondary to the REAL mission, vision, and model of Jesus for church growth and kingdom expansion: making disciples.

That’s why I’m obsessed with learning everything I can and implementing everything I can about discipleship right now…

We know how to have big days and double our attendance.

We know how to promote events.

We know how to have powerful, impacting sermons and church experiences.

We know how to create amazing Sunday environments.

And our church has grown…like crazy…

Over 45% year over year.

But I’m not satisfied.

Because impacting one city is just a drop of water in the ocean…

In the USA we’re falling behind in church planting! I recently heard that 4,000 new churches start every year but 7,000 close. Ouch!

We need a movement of multiplication.

And that starts with becoming disciple-making machines…just like the early church!

Here’s how to create a culture of contagious discipleship.

The beauty of making disciples is that while it’s not easy…it’s simple!

I’ve broken it down into 3 steps that you can take as a leader.

And I 100% guarantee that if you do these 3 steps over and over again you’re going to see discipleship take off like a rocket in your church!
