The Honeycomb Effect

"A person who is full refuses honey, but even bitter food tastes sweet to the hungry." - Proverbs 27:7

This is one of my favorite verses!

Yeah, I know, I say that a LOT...

But it really is.

Because it's right on the money.

When you're "full" even the best food seems repulsive.

But when you're "hungry" you'll eat anything.

The discerning reader will note that this email has nothing to do with food.

It's about knowledge, information, and training.

If you're "full" even the best coach, mentor, book, course, or conference won't mean much to you.

But if you're "hungry" you'll soak up every word, insight, and idea.

Have you ever seen two people have two wildly different responses to a message or training?

It's because of the "honeycomb" effect.

See, most pastors and leaders are so "stuffed" with info and ideas that it feels like a 5th trip to the buffet to get more training!

You can hear the buttons on their mental vests beginning to strain and pop.

They're just "full."

But information isn't the same thing as impartation.

And it certainly isn't the same thing as action!

It's not what you know.

It's what you do with it.

And when you take action on what you've learned you get a little more "hungry."

One of the issues I've noticed through coaching pastors is that everyone has a form of the right system for growth and breakthrough in place.

Most churches have a growth track, first impressions, groups, and a relatively compelling Sunday worship experience.

But pastors don't really believe it's "working."

They don't see the fruit of their labors...

Why is that?

Again, consider the "honeycomb" effect.

They're "full" and the thought of another trip to the information buffet is overwhelming.

The answer is to get hungry again.

Hungry for prophetic insight.

Hungry for Holy Spirit revival manifested through souls saved and disciples made.

Hungry for fresh vision.

Hungry to release new teams and leaders in your church.

Hungry to increase vision fueled generosity.

Hungry for a tangible move of God at your church.

That's what my team and I love helping pastors do through UpLevel Leader coaching.

We've only got space for 2 more churches to join UpLevel Leader right now.

Hungry,

Pastor Jake
