Sunday And The Secret Of Spiritual Warfare
Hey, hey...it's Sunday!
And today I'm excited to go to church and worship God...
And to preach the Word...
And to see lives transformed by the Gospel.
Here's something I teach my church that might encourage you.
I tell them, "Faithfully attending church (and participating of course!) is the most powerful act of spiritual warfare you can do."
Here's why...
In a world divided by race, socio-economics, and politics...
Church is the place where we MUST lay it all down at the foot of the cross.
We aren't divided...we're united by the blood of Jesus.
One faith.
One baptism.
One God!
And when we gather to worship God and serve each other we change the world.
The very atmosphere over your church is different.
Because the local church is the best (and only) representation of heaven on earth!
In heaven we won't be divided.
In heaven we'll see every tribe and nation.
In heaven we'll be free to love, serve, create, and worship.
There won't be any addiction or bondage.
There won't be any broken hearted kids crying themselves to sleep at night.
There won't be any divorce or separation.
And that's God's heart for your church and your city!
Do you know why I'm pedal to the metal passionate about helping churches get healthy and grow?
Because YOUR church is meant to be an embassy of heaven!
Not a dysfunctional, defeated, discouraging place.
God wants your church to represent His heart for the people around you.
We need MORE strong, healthy, growing churches...not less.
And today...yes it's Sunday folks...today we win.
Every week.
We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
We celebrate the victory we have in Christ.
We dance on death, despair, and disappointment...
And we celebrate the victorious Kingdom of God.
Yes, we long for the future fulfillment of His kingdom at His coming...
But we know His kingdom is here right now.
And it's visible and at work every Sunday at churches...
Where Jesus is preached...
Where disciples are made...
Where God is worshipped in spirit and in truth.
I'm praying for you today.
I'm praying you'll preach with passion and purpose.
I'm praying your church will show up hungry for God.
I'm praying you'll see lost people come to Jesus.
I'm praying you'll be encouraged!
It's Sunday.
Let's roll.
Have a wonderful day,
Pastor Jake
