Swallow The Frog

How To Get More Out Of Every Day

Let me explain.

I do not nor have I ever eaten a frog!

But this phrase has deep meaning which I'll explain to you...

It comes from something my Dad would say to me as a kid when I had a task or chore ahead of me that I didn't want to do.

He'd say, "If you have to swallow a frog make sure and swallow the head first!"

Yuck!

But the point is this.

There are many things we don't want to do but at some point we have to just...

Swallow the frog.

Get it?

The sooner the better.

Do the hard part first...

I've never forgotten it and it's something I live by.

Especially as a pastor and leader.

Because as the leader...there are always things I don't want to do!

Tough conversations that need to be had.

Difficult decisions to make.

Hard assignments that require my full focus and attention.

Lots of frogs to swallow.

But...

Head first really is BEST.

Here's the lesson.

If you've got something you've been putting off that you know you need to do.

Just go do it.

Literally right now.

Because that thing has power over you until you get rid of it.

It's a weight hanging over you that's impacting your ability to lead!

You're afraid because c'mon, that frog is nasty!

But it won't get easier later.

And for future frogs?

Swallow them as soon and as fast as you can.

It will actually make your life and leadership so much better!

Hope that's helpful.

Now I'm headed to lunch...

Not really sure about what's on the menu...

Right now I’m helping churches (and businesses) get connected with a firm that assists them determine their eligibility for the ERC tax credit. The average check to the church we’ve seen is $18,000 per employee. Incredible right? It’s already been a HUGE blessing to hundreds of churches across the US. But there is a TON of misinformation, misunderstanding, and even scams out there so getting the right help is important. If you’d like more information please click here.

This last week a small business in my church found out they’re getting over 100k back! Don’t miss out on this…
