The Worst Day Of My Life
At Least Top 10...
A few years ago I got home from church and settled in for a relaxing afternoon.
My wife said, "Hey, E (our daughter) is asleep in her bed. I'm gonna run to the grocery store."
"Ok babe, no prob."
With my daughter asleep and the sun shining on a warm summer afternoon I settled in and took a nap.
A Sunday staple right?
A few minutes later I woke up and checked on my daughter.
But she wasn't in her bed!
I searched the house.
Then ran outside calling her name.
Panic set in.
Something only a parent can understand.
Instantly one of the worst moments in my life…
Seconds felt like hours.
Then I spotted my neighbor a few houses down...
He waved to me so I quickly jogged down there.
My daughter was safely playing with her friends in the yard.
Sweet relief.
Of course, I let her know it wasn't ok to leave the house without telling us....
But she was safe and sound.
On that day I got a brief glimpse into the heart of God.
He loves His children SO MUCH.
And nothing is OK when they're lost.
That's why I care about inviting people to church.
Because God cares.
He told us to go and make disciples.
One of the ways we do it (not the only one) is through simple Facebook invite ads.
Little 30 second videos where I simply invite people to come to church.
The point isn't growth or numbers for numbers sake.
It's to give people a chance to hear the gospel.
